GIVIN – Charity Simplified is a non-profit organization dedicated to allowing people to easily donate to their favorite charities through online auctions.
The idea began as a collaboration between Genna Brown, a Senior Lecturer of Finance at Georgia State University (GSU) and one of her former students, Brandon Black. Their goal was to find a way to help churches, charities and other non-profit organizations financially.

One summer afternoon in 2015, Brandon stopped by Genna’s office to talk about updates with his career and stated, “Ya know, I think I’d be great at starting and running a business, but I just need a big idea.” Genna had the big idea of GIVIN for a while, but hadn’t been able to execute. That afternoon they decided to push the idea forward. As a co-founder of GIVIN – Charity Simplified, Brandon’s role can be best described as Chief of Staff.
Brandon has volunteered with organizations such as Aid Atlanta, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlanta as well as the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He is looking forward to other partnerships as GIVIN flourishes.
Brooke met Genna through another client who also teaches in the GSU Finance department, and the rest is history.
Brooke lives in scenic Harrisonburg, VA with her husband and two great kiddos.
