Troubleshooting the Submission Form
If you’ve received the dreaded “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later” message, most likely your internet connection is timing out while your photos are uploading. There can be many reasons for this – but the most likely is large photo sizes paired with temporary internet connectivity issues, causing the connection to the server to time out while sending the submission.
There are a couple things you can try to alleviate this:
- First, check your file size. Was it over 6mb? Then you need to use a smaller version of the image. The file size should be between 1mb -6mb. Any file over 6mb will cause a form error.
- If your file size was under 6mb, it may be that your connection was just too slow at the time, and it timed out. You may want to try again later, especially if you notice pages loading faster (which means your connection speed has improved).
- If your file was under 6mb but you still got an error, you may want to use your computer’s default image editor to make your photos a little smaller – not lower in quality, but a smaller size in general. Your photos for the auctions should ideally be between 1000-2000 pixels on the largest side, which would be around 1-2mb (megabytes) in size. That should help alleviate some connectivity issues, over, say, 1 or more images that are much larger, at about about 4-6mb a piece.
